20 Week Ultrasound

Erin & I went to the 20 week ultrasound earlier this week. The experience didn’t start too well. Our appointment was for 12:30, and we arrived at around 12:15 to find the office closed for lunch. That’s fine, we figured we’ll just sit around until the people come back. 12:30 comes, still no one… 12:35… still waiting. 12:40.. finally someone shows up. At 12:45 we finally go into the ultrasound room. The technician rushes in, and says we’ll have to make this quick. I tell her that we’d like a CD (video) and some pictures, to which she responds “I don’t know if we’ll have time”. Excuse me?!?!? I bluntly told her that we were here at 12:15, and it’s not our fault that they took a longer lunch. This could be our last baby ultrasound ever, and we’re not going to miss out on the experience because you and your office mates took an extra 10 mins for lunch.

At first it felt that she was rushing through the ultrasound, but as time went on (and we were obviously over ourĀ allotted time), the technician seemed to slow down to a normal pace. We got to enjoy the experience of seeing our next child. It also ends up that this won’t be the last ultrasound, as the baby is still sitting low. So we’ll be seeing he/she again in about 10 weeks time.
